On one of the illustrations for the book @semofensa_livro I was heavily inspired by Princess Diana’s wedding dress (and this was even before season 4 of @thecrownnetflix came out) 👰🏾 I chose this ref because it’s an iconic dress but then I realized there’s a huge symbolism here: both Diana and the bride described in the book suffer from a lack of acceptance and empathy from the family they marry into (and that’s all I’ll say, don’t to want to give too much away 🙊). The latest in the ceramics department 🏺✨ 1️⃣ It was supposed to be a vase, but then I’m all out of storage space so it went on the wall. 2️⃣ @mazevedocoutinho broke my other plant plate so I made a new one (i still love you 😘, don’t worry). 3️⃣ Tried something different as an experiment, would love to hear your feedback! 4️⃣ This poor thing was accidentally fired by my parents before I had the chance to finish it 😅 Decided to glaze it anyway but may still be a wip.

Sneak peak of @semofensa_livro 📖 This chapter is called “You speak well, for a black person” 🙄 It’s a brief analysis for all the clueless white people of how deeply offensive this is and not at all flattering. The illustration depicts a black Camões, author of the Lusíadas. Camões was in reality white and wrote what may be considered the most important work of Portuguese literature, which is an epic poem about the Portuguese Discoveries - the building of a colonial empire between 15th and 16th century. The Discoveries depicts the Portuguese as “friendly colonizers” and fail to include the natives’ perspective.
